Colombe of the Dja and Lobo has gained three points for their game against New Stars of Douala. New Stars was absent for their matchday one fixture against Colombe and the latter has now been awarded maximum points.
As per FECAFOOT’s Homologation Commission, New Stars have lost the match by forfeiture, conceded three goals while Colombe has been awarded the three points.
This decision from the Homologation Commission follows a similar decision undertaking for the game YOSA against Tonnerre Yaounde. The latter was absent from their matchday one game and YOSA have been awarded three points for the encounter.
Despite the award of the three points to Colombe, the team is still in the relegation zone with 8 points to their credit after 8 games played. The team still has a game in hand (matchday 9 against Coton Sports) and if they can pick up a victory in that game they are certainly looking at climbing off the drop zone.
It has been a tough first round for Colombe who have succeeded in picking just two wins, two draws and recorded four defeats in their games played so far. The team has scored nine goals and conceded ten, a statistic that will need to improve during the second round if they are to avoid the relegation playoffs.
