Chem Herbert was on target again as PWD Social Football Club of Bamenda beat OFTA 10_man OFTA of Kribi two_nil.
Left back Malachi Nfor, had put the Abakwa Boys in front after just 12 minutes of play, when Elong Étienne headed a Chem Herbert’s corner kick to the woodworks, but the left back was in the right place to slot the rebound pass goalkeeper Benjamine Munya.
Goalkeeper Sombang Edward made some clinical saves to keep PWD’s lead, before the ocean boys were reduced to 10_men at the 39 minute, when Ndoumbe Paul Rodrigue received his second booking of the game.
OFTA threatened in the second half after the introduction of Dalif Djibouer.
PWD brought in Ze Abossolo in the place of Elong Étienne in an attempt to add more flair to their attack force.
Captain John Paul Nzo Ngong of PWD negotiated a quick counter attacking move, as he picked out Enyegue François from the right hand side. The latter switched a pass across the face of goal for Chem Herbert, who slotted it to the bottom right hand side of Benjamine Munya.
Chem Herbert who scored his second goal of the season, was replaced by experienced midfielder Vincent Paul Ngondi.
Fouda Théophile and Tendo Elton James, were later brought on for Ulrich Zanga and Enyegue François respectively.
Ze Abossolo thought he had added a third goal for PWD, but was flagged offside.
OFTA who came into the game after parting ways with coach Jean Sébastien Bata Ntjam, suffered their fifth defeat of season, while the Abakwa Boys recorded their sixth win of the season to go up to 23 points on the league’s table.
