Elite clubs in Cameroon have demanded that better and more secure working conditions should be put in place before the start of the 2022/2023 football season.
This is contained in a letter addressed to the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, and signed by the President of the Association of Elite clubs in Cameroon Shu Pascal Abunde.
In the letter, Pascal Abunde noted that, since the withdrawal of the competence of the LFPC, two different organs have successfully managed professional football in Cameroon; that is the CTT and now the CTFP.
During this period, the organization of the championship by these organs have been disturbed by infighting mostly from people who don’t have the interest of the clubs at heart.
A vivid example he cited is the current cacophony reigning at the CTFP where they are two Secretary Generals. This situation Pascal Abunde says can discredit the results of the championship.
Faced with all these difficulties, the elite clubs are calling on the Cameroon Football Federation to put in place the Professional Football League and this should start through transparent elections and also to elaborate on the texts of the professional body in collaboration with the clubs.
The Association of Elite Clubs have also called on the FECAFOOT president to ensure that the new body should see the light of day before the clubs begins registration for the 2022/2023 football season.
