34 of 35 presidents and representatives of Cameroon Elite One and two outfits have been spotted at the Cameroon Football Federation’s headquarters in Tsinga-Yaounde Cameroon this Friday, February 26, 2021, for a meeting convened by the president of the Federation.
The president Mbombo Njoya-summoned gathering began at 11 AM local time with the lone agenda being preparations for a smooth start of first and second-tier football in the country.
This news portal observed with curiosity the presence of some presidents who have not seen things in the same direction as the current executive of the Federation for some time now. If their body language was anything to go by, then one can conclude that the dust has started settling.
Though we made an unsuccessful attempt to get the comments of some of those who attended the meeting, this Pan-African Sports news agency understands the presidents received palliatives for kick-off from the Federation and separated with the agreement to get their Clubs ready for the championship which gets underway this weekend in Yaounde.
Defending champions PWD of Bamenda is expected to challenge newly-promoted YAFOOT FC in the top-flight season opener at 5pm at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé-Cameroon while Renaissance of Ngoumou challenge AS Matelots in the season opener for the second-tier championship at the same venue from 2pm.
