Bamboutos of Mbouda left it late against Union Sportif of Douala with an on fire Hansi Mbappe Muller, who came off the bench to score one and assist another in a stellar match day 20 Cameroon League 1 encounter.

The stakes of the game were evident with tackles flying in from all corners; Pierre Bailang got the game’s first yellow card at the 19th minute.

The game filled with a lot of full-bodied tackles got it’s first sparkle at the 21st minute when Jacques Bayem’s cross found the head of Nandjou Nganle whose header went agonisingly wide.

Nandjou was into USD’s area few seconds to the half time pose but his header once more did not trouble goalkeeper Loic Feudjo.

The second half was even more eventful for the Mangwa Boys. Bamboutos started the second segment as dominant as the first with Ngombe Etame connecting with a corner that nearly went in at the 53rd minute. That miss once more rang the alarm bells for coach Richard Towa and his charges.

Eleven minutes after Etame’s miss, O’Ojong Mark slotted a lovely pass with the outside of his right boot that found Rene Ndi who rushed his shot due to a brave outing by an experience goalkeeper Loic Feudjo. Arouna Dang, who was silent for most parts of the game, had a tame shot that went off target at the 69th minute.

Hansi Mbappe Muller was then introduced in place of Nandjou Nganle with twenty minutes left, the script from there gradually became clearer for Bamboutos.

Hansi Mbappe Muller announced his arrival with a thunderous strike that had Loic Feudjo beaten, but it hit the upright at the 73rd minute after a good interchange of give and go, between Ndi and Bayern from the right flank.

Aristide Medjo, another second half substitute whipped in a useful looking cross at the 80 minute that was attacked on the glide by Hansi Mbappe for the game’s curtain raiser.

At that point, USD’s defense pushed for a high line, looking for parity but Hansi Muller once more on the break released an early ball for Rene Ndi at the 90 minute to make it two – nil.

Bamboutos moves to 32 points, a point lesser than second on the log PWD while USD misses out of the chance to go further clear off the danger zone
