Cameroon and Best Stars Academy goalkeeping sensation,Manfred Mekumba Ekoi has told that the best thing that ever happened to him and his team mates is to have crowned the long hours of work with a trophy.

Speaking to as the Cameroon team boarded their flight for home on Wednesday morning; “personally I don’t think it was not my best competition but I had alot of help from my coaches and team mates and that kept me going,that is what makes our team stronger. Now we won as a team we have to enjoy the moments for a few days and take the motivation from this success into the world cup.”

“Personally I have to work very hard to be selected by the coaches for the world cup in a few months time,the joy we saw on the faces of thousands of Cameroonians is what we want to see when we return from Brazil”.

Ekoi kept 3 clean sheets in 4 games in the AFCON and saved decisive penalties in the semi and final game of the tournament to help Cameroon win a second Under 17 AFCON title.

Ekoi for the second time in 2 months was named in a team of the tournament,first in the FERWAFA & BINEWA Sports Management Invitational tournament and later in the 2019 Total Under 17 AFCON team of the tournament.
