2018/2019 CAF Confederations Cup winners Zamalek of Egypt have released a statement through the club’s president to contest the supposing transfer of their 25 year old winger Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim Soliman popularly known as Mahmoud Kahraba to Portuguese club CD Aves.
The Portuguese club announced on their website that they have secured the services of the winger for the next two years.
Zamalek have been quick to dispute the information. A statement released by the club’s president, acknowledged the fact that the player traveled out of the country to negotiate a transfer to a new club but it appears Zamalek is uncomfortable with the conditions of the transfer of the player.
“The player did not attend training and we know that he traveled out of Egypt to negotiate with other clubs, we will go to FIFA” President Mansour Mortada of Zamalek said on social media.
Mahmoud Kahraba missed out of Egypt’s disappointing 2019 AFCON campaign on home soil.
If the 25 year old winger is eventually sorts out his situation and stays at CD Aves, it will be his second spell in Europe and his third European club, after spending time on loan with Luzern in 2013 and Grasshoppers of Zurich in 2014 while he was on the books of Egyptian club ENPPI.
He has been capped in all the categories of his national team from the U-17 to the senior team. He has won 25 caps and scored 3 goals for the senior national team.
