The Olympic Lions of Cameroon have qualified for the next round of the Qualifiers for the Under 23 AFCON.
This comes after CAF publish release on CAFonline.com informing Football authorities in Sierra Leone that their country’s Under 23 team has been suspended from the competition.
The decision gives Sierra Leone’s supposed opponent in the second round of the ongoing Qualifiers-Cameroon a walk into the next round of the without playing the two matches that had been program for the two nations.
Cameroon’s team under the guidance of former Lions captain,Rigobert Song have been in camp preparing for the double clash that had to take place this March 21st and 24th. Cameroon is now obliged to seek the alternative of a friendly during the international break if they must get a game.
The above decision puts Cameroon in the next round of the qualifiers in June and present the country an opportunity to go in search of a place in the tournament to take place in Egypt this November.
Sierra Leone’s Football has been through this on multiple occasions in the last few years as the country’s Football struggles to shake-off their problems of the past.
