Eteki Esoh Memorial Sports Academy (EEMSA) is scheduled to face Tiko United in the opening fixture of the new football season in the region. The “Samba Boys” are seen as favourites in Pool F but the other teams may cause an upset.
In an exclusive interview with kick442.com, Nzams Eyong Kelvin, Team Manager of EEMSA said: “You know EEMSA is an academy and for the past years we have been educating the people on how we operate. We are a team that does not make too much noise. We have been preparing very well as we have been doing for the past seasons.”
EEMSA kick442.com understands are yet to take to the field for preparatory exercises ahead of their crucial game against Tiko United. In the last football season that was curtailed due to the health pandemic, EEMSA was bottom of their group with just 2 points to their account. The team succeeded in getting 2 draws and the rest of their games were defeats.
According to the Team manager, last year some of their players where send to some clubs for them to reinforce their team. It was to make people know that EEMSA is existent. To him, they were not looking for results but to know how much the players have understood what they had been teaching them.
“Tiko United is the mother team all of you know, and that same match will look like other matches. I know my boys know how to confront matches, and it will be an interesting match for people to come and see,” Nzams Eyong Kelvin, Team Manager of EEMSA told kick442.com.
Group F consist of teams based in Tiko. They include Tiko United, EEMSA; Little Foot FC; Ajax FC Likomba, and Treviso, who last season played in Kumba. The full matchday one fixtures are yet to be made public but it is expected to be made public during the South West Regional General Assembly scheduled for December 12.
