CUSA University Sports Academy without Coach Enobi Brandon have come from behind to hold EEMSA in Tiko this Saturday afternoon.
The very interesting football encounter between the first and second placed clubs in Pool B of the ongoing Southwest Regional championship didn’t dissapoint it’s guest.
In the 5th minute of play Mutia Evaristus in his first start for EEMSA benefited from a great pass that left him one-on-one Goalkeeper Ashu Kellem of CUSA but the recovery effort from the vigilant defensive formation stopped any danger from the forward.
In the 10th minute of play,a well worked corner high into the sky was not well read by EEMSA’s keeper Mohamed Hadary lucky enough for him, CUSA’s forward line only directed it to the post.
Agbor Arrey found himself in space in the other box within 2 minutes but his orientation and made it difficult for him to get the ball under his control forcing him direct a weak effort on target.
In the 16th minute of play Catholic University came close again through forward George Fonkwo but his effort towards goal was deflected.
With 20 minutes of the first half gone,the anxious crowd of about 150 spectators were still waiting for a first save from both of the the Goalkeepers on show though EEMSA looked more composed especially in the Midfield area with Fokala Marc (No:6) and Lesiga Desmond being on their A-game while Goalkeeper Mohamed for the same side looked shaky.
A foul from Ebai Fabrice (No:13) of CUSA on Nanje Obase (No:7) gave EEMSA a set piece on the half way line but the effort was wasted.
CUSA showed some good collective ability but lacked the end product in the final third.
In the 28th minute a wonderful pass from Fokala (found Mutia(No:16) in space but his fine effort from 12 meters out only found the upright.
Agbor Arrey entertained the Tiko crowd in the 30th minutes with a wonderful run into the box but he was closed down by 3 defenders.
A 33rd minutes wonderful set piece delivery from Nanje Obase found debut boy Mutia Evaristus in a tight corner in the box and the center forward left the crowd in the Stadium on their feets with a great header to give EEMSA a 1 nil lead.

3 minutes later Agbor Arrey will come close again but his run into the box was stopped and CUSA break from the counter nearly caught the EEMSA defense napping.

Both sides retired to the changing room with EEMSA leading 1 nil.
In the second segment EEMSA was again on the front foot creating chances but lacking the end product.
A foul from Fokala Marc in the 53rd minutes needed the attention of the referee to separate him from Peter Shu.
Both players were booked.
Peter Shu will pick himself up and could have equalized for CUSA a minute later when he found himself in the box but his effort found Goalkeeper Mohamed
George Fonkwo will benefit from a quick counter launch by CUSA and found himself in the edge of the EEMSA box but his attempt went wide.
A 60th minutes poor defensive error from Mahop Patrick gave away a set piece and a yellow card for Ngomsi Voltaire.
Baka Valery will pick the the dead ball and put it directly into the EEMSA net for CUSA’s equalizer in the 60th minute.

CUSA got the reward for their efforts on the day.
CUSA will again come closer after a great combination in the EEMSA half but the shot from forward Asanga Fabrice only found Goalkeeper Mohamed.
CUSA came close again in the 73rd minutes but EEMSA’s center back Voltaire recovered and won a foul.
EEMSA reacted with a double substitution; a forward thinking replacement of Kimbi Edwin by Ngeh Beligne while left back Ndzi Yaouba came in for Keka Otto.
Baka Valery will load in a wicked shot from a 45 meters set piece but Goalkeeper Mohamed finger tipped it over the bar but the resulting corner was wasted.
A wonderful 78th minute combination between Yaouba,Arrey and Nanje won a foul for EEMSA but the delivery from Nanje was better read by goalkeeper Ashu who intervened for CUSA.
Mutia Evaristus will come close again in the 81st minutes but his excellent drive on target was stopped by Ashu.
Ngeh Beligne weak defensive clearance to get possession in the box but the CUSA backline recovered quickly to get them out of trouble.
Mutia Evaristus will give away a set piece in his last contribution before been replaced by Jerome Fontem.
The center referee Habibou Issa will call it a day minutes after Jerome’s introduction.

both sides have share the spoils and it is the second time this season that teams are separating on a parity score.
EEMSA remain unbeaten and protect their place at the top with 15 points while CUSA keeps the second spot in the group 10 points with 3 games left this season.
