Former management committee member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Mr. Edmund Ackah has disclosed that management committee of the club should not be blamed for the financial problems that Kotoko has been facing but the Dr. Kwame Kyei.
“Nobody is causing financial loss to Kotoko or Dr Kwame Kyei but the Executive Chairman himself (Dr.Kwame Kyei). Mr. Ackah disclosed this to Oyerepa FM in Kumasi.
Mr. Ackah explained how Dr. Kwame Kyei brought in Zachariassen and paid off Coach CK Akonnor.
“He single handedly contacted Zachariassen, lodged him at a hotel at East Legon before handing him over to George Amoako and Nana Kwame Dankwah.
Even on CK Akonnor’s issue, he insulted us (management) when he sought our opinion, after agreeing with CK to pay him off at GHc 50,000.
Dr Kwame Kyei said he will only pay GHc20,000 and now Kotoko have to pay over billion. Whose fault is it?” He quizzed
He went further to say that Dr. Kyei does not bother about the laws of the game when mentioned to him.
“You mention laws of the game on issues to him, then he start spewing that there’s no need for the laws”
Mr. further to explained his involvement in the signing of George Abege and asked to be commended for his intervention in acquiring Justice Blay.
“People accuse me of bringing George Abege but have forgotten to also acknowledge me for Justice Blay who is being hailed now.
The only role I played was to get a contact in Kenya for the team so they contact officials of Kariobangi Sharks.” Mr. Ackah
He ended with emphasis that no one should be blamed for the club’s problems but Dr. Kyei
“Nobody should blame anybody for the Financial losses ,he’s the problem not anybody.” He concluded
Mr. Edmund Ackah resigned from the management role few months ago without any reason.
