Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and Olympiakos Nicosia forward Salli Edgar helped his side fetch a point from his side’s league game on Thursday.
The forward scored his side’s equalizer to in the 1-1 draw as they came from behind to savage a point in match-day 15 of the Cypriot first division championship.
Cameroon duo; Fabrice Kah Nkwoh and Salli Edgar started upfront for the visitors in the tricky encounter.
Both sides failed to score in the first segment but came back hungrier after the break.
Cypriot forward Nikos Englezou put the host ahead barely two minutes into the second segment.
Seven minutes later, forward Fabrice Kah Nkwoh was booked leaving him in difficulty throughout the rest of his eight appearance of the season as a second yellow could have amounted to a sending off.
Both sides slowed down for the next 20 minutes with Doxa opting to hold their lead while Olympiakos surged ahead from time to time in search of the equalizer but was very cautious about leaving spaces at the back.
Macedonian keeper Damjan Šiškovski was sent off in the 71st minute of the game leaving Doxa with ten players thus handing a one player advantage to the visitors.
The visitors won a penalty in the 76th minute of the game and experienced Salli Edgar stepped up and scored to make it 1-1.
The goal swing the flow of the game in favor of Olympiakos but unfortunately they were led down by poor finishing on a couple of occasions.
Fabrice Kah was replaced in the 88th minute with his side keen on getting the winner.
Unfortunately for Olympiakos and Edgar there wasn’t a second goal as the game ended on a parity score.
Edgar’s goal is his first of the season and he joined the Club in the build-up to the current season.
Olympiakos are currently ranked 6th in the championship ahead of their next game away at AEL on Monday.
