Precious Edewor’s spot-kick in the 10th minute of Ibom Angels FC’s encounter with Edo Queens FC, was enough to hand the Orange Ladies all three points at the Training Pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in one of the matchday 11 games of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership 2021.
The attacking midfielder, who played the whole 90 minutes of the match, orchestrated play for the home team in the middle of the park and was pivotal in Ibom Angels recording their second win of the current campaign.
The Delta-born footballer, expressed confidence in her teammates, stressing ‘they can achieve more victories in coming matches’ and that ‘better days are ahead.
“We came out to play today’s match knowing too well that the team is having some tough times.
“I believe my teammates and myself will not leave any stone unturned to see that we achieve good results in coming matches”.
Edewor’s spot-kick was unstoppable as she placed the ball beyond the reach of Edo Queens’ goalkeeper, Christy Ohaeriaku.
Ibom Angels occupied the 13th position on the 14 team league table with seven points from eleven games, one point behind Abia Angels in the relegation zone.
They will travel to play Abia Angels in their next game on March 31, 2021, in a relegation battle between the 12th and 13th positioned teams.
