The 2020/2021 regional football league of the East Region has been programmed to get underway on December 12, 2020. This is per information released by the Secretary-General of the East Regional Football Ligue.
In the opening game in Belabo, Belabo FA will do battle with Chamba Sports Academy. “We have been preparing ahead of the launch of the championship that will be coming in the days ahead,” Coach Meka, Chamba Sports Academy told kick442.com.
On December 5, the Ligue had its Ordinary General Assembly to prepare for the launch of the football season, while on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December at CENAJES in BERTOUA, the Ligue organized promotion, retention and demotion test for regional referees, according to the release from the Secretary-General.
The East Region is the second Regional Ligue body to make its intentions known of beginning the football season in December. This comes after the South West Regional League announced the date for the beginning of the championship on December 13.
Chamba Sports Academy, a team founded in 2017 won promotion into the East Regional Ligue in 2018. The team participated at the 2018/2019 regional football season in the East Region.
Last football season, Chamba succeeded in getting victories against CPS by 1 goal to 0. In matchday 4 of the championship, Chamba Sports faced Belabo FC and were beaten 3 goals to 4.
Chamba Sports Academy has been involved in various friendly games as they get themselves prepared for the launch of the championship. The team was beaten by Stade FC Bertoua and equally had another friendly encounter with Dream Olympic FC which the side also lost 2 goals to 1.
