In a bid to change the fortunes of DreamStar FC Ladies, currently languishing second bottom of Nigeria’s top tier female football league, the Chairman of the Club, Abolore AbdulRahmon in a press conference announced the appointment of UK based UEFA B Licenced Coach, Sheriff Tajudeen as a Consulting Head Coach.
Abolore highlighted this appointment as “a positive move for the club as we look to rapidly start climbing up the table”.
“Mr Sheriff is a personal friend of mine and after a few discussions with him, he has graciously accepted to offer his expertise in the capacity of a Consulting Head Coach”. he noted
Coach Sheriff comes with a wealth of experience and exposure having coached at all spectrum of English football from grassroots to semi professional, all the way to the premier league coaching at Watford FC during their premier league days.
In his remarks, Coach Sheriff said he was delighted to be involved with the team having watched them in training and at a friendly match.
“I have watched the girls play and train and they are quite a bunch of delightful and talented girls who are capable of being higher up the table than they currently are.”
“I’m happy to be involved in the capacity of a consulting head coach which not only focuses on the first 11 but the club as a whole.” he emphasized
“I’m hoping the fans are as excited as I am about this development as we collectively work together to get this team back to the top”.
“Remember, we are the pride of Lagos” he remarked.
The Galacticas occupied the thirteenth position which is at the relegation zone on the 2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership table with three points.
DreamStar Ladies play their first match under Coach Sheriff on Wednesday, 17th February, 2021, against Pelican Stars by 4:00pm at the Agege Stadium.
