Clubs of the Democratic Republic of Congo have voted for the cancellation of the Ligue 1 while awaiting the a final decision of the League’s future from the Congolese Football Association ( FECOFA ).
This will imply that the DR Congo’s championships will either have winners nor relegation at all levels.
Several African football federations have resorted to this option including Niger. Also, the Leagues in Burkina Faso and Angola have suffered similar fate.
Record winners, TP Mazembe currently lead the Congolese Ligue one. There are five points clear from second placed Vita Club.
