Officials of South African Premier Soccer League side Mamelodi Sundowns have made giant strides in their quest to sign 21-year old Cameroonian forward Ako Loic Martins Assomo.
The intermediate Lions of Cameroon forward on his debut appearance in the African Nations Championship has sparkled, winning the man of the match award on not less than two occasions in four appearances for the Central African Nation.
Ako’s contribution to Cameroon’s brilliant run has seen the Mamelodi Sundowns scouting earmark him as one to return to South Africa with.
According our findings, the Club has made official contact with the players entourage and talks are well on course to provoke a move to South Africa.
A switch to the Brazilians will be a marked progress for the former Eding Sport de la Lekie forward who has represented Cameroon at all age categories of the national team.
Ako Assomo is currently affiliated to AS Fortuna of Mfou but a part of the player’s ownership rights is Eding Sport’s.
Earlier this year, AS Futuro of Mfou made a failed attempt to sign Ako from AS Fortuna.
