Moussa Wague has been handed a four match ban after he was shown red for punching an S.D Ejea fan. The Senegalese defender left all his weight on his right fist before unleashing on a fan, who racially abused him and refused giving the ball for him to restart play.

The 20-year-old was one of the revelations of the the 2018 FIFA World cup. He played virtually all the matches for Aliou Cisse’s men, and emerged as a starter in a team that could boast of the finest African star’s. Wague, 20, was joint youngest goal scorer with Kylian Mbappe in the summer world cup of 2018.

The young star came to Barcelona B with the long term plan, to get himself to the first team, and it has been done as the club registered him in the first team this January, but he would continue to keep working with the B side for more experience on the “Barca style”. The Senegal international was sold by KAS Espen, a Belgian club, since his arrival in November, he managed to make 10 appearances for Barcelona B in which he scored 1 goal and provided two assist, showing a cheetah-fast reactions and ice cold composure for the Barca B outfit.

Wague took to his social media account and apologised;”I want to denounce that my actions came After being the subject of numerous and repeated insults and racist chants that should never be tolerated on a football pitch”, Wague wrote on social media on Monday.

The truth with racism is that it would hardly come to an end, because some racist parents pass it on to their children. Samuel Eto’o, Carlos Kameni and Dani Alves to name a few were all racially abused in their time in Spain. Eto’o attempted leaving the pitch but was held back, while Dani Alves and Kameni were thrown Bananas; Dani Alves ate he’s, while Kameni was just mentally disturbed. Racism is at it’s peak, and it is gaining grounds in mostly Italy and Spain. Would the World Football Governing Body sit and fold their hands? Tougher measures are needed on this people who think they can spoil our ‘Beautiful game’.
