The head coach of the Desert Foxes of Algeria, Djamel Belmadi is enjoying a great time in office.
Last year, the gaffer helped his nation end a 29-year wait for the AFCON title.
These days his team is considered as the team to beat on the continent.
RMC’s Jonatan Hardy has revealed that the gaffer has had chances to be employed in the top European league, but turned down the offers.
“Djamel is a very good coach. He has had offers from a top French Club, unfortunately negotiations breakdown,” Jonathan revealed during a Televised Sports show.
Events of the last few weeks have reignited debates about the non-involvement of African coaches in European Football Clubs.
Djamel Belmadi has enjoyed a smooth transition from professional football to coaching.
Earlier this year, he was named 2019 CAF coach of the year, following his exploits with his country in the calendar year.
The 44-year-old former PSG youths team coach is in first major job upon football retirement in 2009.
