If there is any name that caught the attention of many Football lovers during the finals of the 60th edition of the Cameroon cup, then it is certainly Jules Hypollite Thio Tadoum. His fourth minute goal set the agenda for Stade Renard, before he completed his brace at the 57th minute of that game. Even before the results of the commission in charge of picking out the Man of the match (MOTM) was made known, many left the yaounde Omnisport Stadium, knowing that only a miracle could stop Jules Hypollite from winning the honour.
The 1.70 meter tall left footed Midfielder, who can also play at left back, put in one of the best performance of his career, in front of Cameroon’s Prime minister, Joseph Dion Ngoute, who presided over the occasion. His Football career has seen him passing through Astres of Douala, but came to the spotlight in 2017, when he won the league one title with Eding Sports of the Lekie.
He has been an intergral part of Stade Renard’s history making 2019 squad, and his Contribution to the teams success is enormous. Jules Hypollite Thio Tadoum has scored four goals in all competitions for Stade Renard this season, two in the league one and two in the Cameroon cup, and also providing four assist, a record which puts him as one of his sides best performing players this season.
While receiving his MOTM award, Jules Hypollite highlighted some of the qualities he possess in his style of play. “I am a very technical player, with lot of pace and very efficient in front of goal”, he said. “I think it is with these qualities that I scored the two goals in the final”.
With two major trophies won in the space of two years and with two different clubs, Hypollite is targeting more success in future. “My aim is to work hard as I’ve always been doing and I leave the rest to God and those managing Football in the country”, he added.
The next big thing for Jules Hypolite, will be playing in the CAF confederations cup,a challenge which he is certainly relishing.
