After releasing an initial list of 25 players which came under heavy scrutiny from the media men and women, coach Yves Clement Arroga of the Indomitable Lions team preparing for the CHAN has invited three new faces.

Jimmy Njokam, Nzogue Desire and Louis Mbah to join the Louis Den

Midfielder Louis Enjoamei Mbah from PWD of Bamenda, goalkeeper Nzogue Desire from Avion of Nkam and defender Jimmy Njokam from United.

While the call ups of Louis Enjoamei Mbah and Desire Nzogue might not raise too many eye-brows, that of Jimmy Njokam is already leaving a lot of ink on papers and saliva on the microphones, just like it was the case for Bendounge Mbang Patrick from Ange Rapide in the first list of 25.

Born on January 6, 1996 in Kumbo subdivision, in Bui division of the North West Region of Cameroon, by Mr Emmanuel Njokam and late Emakam Nathalie, Jimmy Njokam is a former player of Kumbo Strikers, from 2015 to 2017.

The central defender with an imposing morphology joint his current club Buea United in 2017.

Jimmy played all 14 league matches for Buea United FC as captain of the club last season.

He is gentle and coolheaded, well behaved player,” his current coach Agbor Emmanuel told kick442.com.

He has a good football brain, and he is very professional. He has a massive and commanding presence at the back, good in the air and has a good range of passes, he is always moving with or without the ball and has a powerful shot in dead-ball situations. He is always willing to help his teammates in all aspects. He is a natural leader.”

The player learnt of his invitation into coach Yves Clement Arroga’s team from his club’s President Valery Kadji and from a local radio station this Monday morning.

I am very delighted for the opportunity and I will go there and fight for my place,” Jimmy to kick442.com

This could be a turning point for me in my career but I will take everything under my stride and stay focused just to give my best and see how this pans out.”

Njokam was voted Buea United’s player of the season last term and appeared in the Kick442.com team of the week on two match days of the Southwest Regional Championship.

While many will be asking how the coach got to see him without his team playing any competitive game in three months, the answers to vindicate the coach will come from his performances from now till when the final list for the African Nations Championship scheduled to take place in April 2020 in Cameroon, will be made public.
