As reported few hours ago ,CAF boss Ahmad is in responding to questions from French officials keen on getting particular details about some contracts in his time as CAF boss.

According to @jeune_afrique, the CAF president was arrested on Thursday morning at a hotel in Paris, where he was staying to attend the FIFA Congress. President Ahmad was arrested around 8:30 am at the Berri Hotel in Paris, according to several media reports.

It’s unclear why the 59-year old Magdagalsy was taken away by police.

Though some section of the media say the arrest is based on issues relating to contractual matters with a Puma deal that was unilaterally abrogated in favour of another company.

Though details around the reported arrest remain sketchy, media reports have it that the Mr Ahmad has been taken for questioning in connection with a “contract unilaterally broken by CAF with the German Football equipment manufacturer Puma to engage with the company Technical Steel, based in La Seyne-sur-Mer.”

Reports have it that Ahmad signed off on a deal, which benefitted the company Technical Steel, with one of the company’s top employees said paying to the tune of €739 000 to the CAF president in order to get the deal signed.

The last few days have been very controversial for the African football body(CAF) he is in charge of.

Less than 24 hours ago CAF’s executive committee decided to order for a replay of the 2nd leg of the CAF Champions league final which ended prematurely last Friday in Tunis.
