Sources say the draw for the upcoming first ever 24 nations 2019 African Cup of Nations competition will be conducted in Cairo Egypt in the first week of April barely day after the end of the last qualifiers matches.

The last qualifiers have been program for the 22nd and 23 of March with 13 out of 24 Nations to be present at the football Jamboree already known.

The 24 Nations tournament which was initially supposed to be hosted by Cameroon was handed to Egypt on January 8 this year.

The tournament will run from the 15th of June to 13 July across 6 different major Stadia in Egypt.

“The draw will take place during the first week of April. We will be ready for this event and the major grounds needed for this competition will be refurbished by April” Said Ahmed Medjahed, Member of the Egyptian Football Association told

Egypt will host Africa for the first time since 2006 when they last hosted and won the AFCON.

Madgascar and Mauritania will make their tournament debut in this edition of the competition while defending champion Cameroon will defend their crown in a country they lost the final of the 1986 competition.
