Ghana’s Minister of Sports,Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah has rufute reports that his ministry has been presented a budget for AFCON 2019.

Hon Kwame issued a disclaimer on the issue “there story circulating on social media claiming the Normalisation Committee have presented a budget of $7.2m to the government for the AFCON 2019
Government has therefore increased the budget to $8m. Players will receive appearance fee.
Players per diem was $100 initially but will be increased to $150. Black Stars winning bonus will be increased from $5000 to $10000.

But the sports minister had this reaction to the matter ,”Why should government increase the budget in the first place ? “There is no truth in this.
We as a country do not even know our group opponents , so why thinking and planning of Budget now.”
“The winner of the African Cup of Nations is earning $4 million prize money So why should government put in such amount?” minister Kwame reacting to kick442.com
It is indeed true our priority as Ghanaians so far as football is concern is winning ourselves AFCON and that does not for outrageous budget or excess spending”.
“The Normalisation Committee has never presented any budget to the Sports minister or the Government.”

“The Normalisation Committee,The minister for youth and sports and the Government have never agreed to increase any per diem ,winning Bonus etc as claimed”.

Ghana is still looking for their 5th AFCON crown since winning their last trophy in 1982.
