Gabonese forward, Denis Athanase Bouanga and his fans are filled with uncertainty following recent comments from his Saint Etienne manager, Claude Puel.
The forward has been the subject of transfer speculations since the French Ligue 1 season ended prematurely due to the outbreak of the CoronaVirus pandemic.
Puel recently stated in an interview with L’Equipe
that only the club’s best players who are dedicated will stay at the club.
“We will do everything to keep our best players. I am not here to take and make them shine. My duty is to give my best for the club and keep focused players that can make this club successful”, Puel averred.
The 25-year-old Le Mans native has been the subject of transfer speculations related to multiple French Ligue Un and La Liga clubs.
Bouanga enjoyed a scintillating campaign at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard scoring 12 goals from 35 games.
Though Bouanga is on contract until the summer of 2023 but Lille, Rennes and Real Bétis have been rumoured as interested parties for the services of the former FC Lorient winger.
The Gabon international has won 11 caps for the Panthers of Gabon from which he has scored thrice.
The ex Strasbourg man is rated at €8 Million, an amount which can’t scare potential suitors given his talent.
