In a game clouded with licenses issues from Tiko United, the Samba Boys played the game against Best Stars with just 8 players with valid licenses. With a 2-man down, the team paid dearly as they were beaten 5-0 by Best Stars.
A hat trick from Ferdinand Yeeya ensured that Best Stars qualifies for the third round of the qualifiers for the 2021 Cup of Cameroon.
An on goal from Armand gave Best Stars a brilliant start to the match at the 3mins. The goal for Best Stars unsettled the Tiko United side as they were guilty of poor passes.
Best Stars then score a second goal through a free-kick that met the leg of Ferdinand Yeeya at the 11mins. A third goal then soon followed as Paul Ken scored at the 25mins.
With few minutes to half time, Best Stars scored their fourth and fifth goal through Corines Che and Ferdinand Yeeya. Corines Che scored at the 30mins and Ferdinand followed suit at the 43mins.
It was all Best Stars in the game though as Tiko United showed glimpses of what they could have offered if they had a full squad. At half time it was 5-0 in favour of Best Stars.
Just a few minutes into the second half Best Stars picked up from where they left in the first half as they penetrated Tiko United’s defence. Ferdinand Yeeya then scored Best Stars’ sixth goal of the game at the 48mins, a hat trick for him in the game.
At the 57mins, the referee blew the final whistle after Tiko United was left with just seven players after their goalkeeper went off injured. The final whistle brought to an end the onslaught that Best Stars was giving to Tiko United.
It should be noted that Tiko United came to the game just 10mins to the start of the match and provided licenses with some not duly signed. The players and coaches protested and indicated that they went to the FECAFOOT South West office and were told by one of the officials that those licenses not signed could be used for the game.
The referee and match commissioner and other officials attested that the licenses were not signed and could not be used. The question that has been asked is what licenses were used by the players in the first game that they won in the competition and also the games that they have played in the South West Regional League.
