Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) through their social media handles yesterday, declared how the positions of Technical Team for the Uganda National Women Team were vacant following WAFCON showpiece.
This decision to dissolve the technical team was raised during the FUFA Exco Meeting held last week on Wednesday 31 August, 2022 at FUFA house Mengo.
The Crested Cranes technical team led by Head Coach George William Lutalo now are no longer attached to the National team following relief from their official Duties.
The resolution came following the Crested Cranes performance at the 2022 WAFCON tournament in Morocco.
Uganda who had taken over 20 years without Action at Africa’s Biggest Women tournament registered no win at the show piece recording 2 losses to Hosts (Morocco), Senegal and picked only a draw in their last group match against Burkina Faso under the Technical team.
This marks Lutalo’s one year term with the National team which he took over last Year in September replacing Faridah Bulega.
Lutalo and his team earlier this year led the Crested Cranes to their maiden CECAFA Women Championship in June.
FUFA commincated saying they will announce the date for when applications for the vacant positions will commence.
