Former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon forward, Patrick Ndem Mboma has taken to Twitter to announce the death of his uncle Achille Essome Moukouri.
“Bad News! A call from my mum at 5AM this Monday informed me of the death of my uncle. To all Cameroonians who think the virus is an illusion, I am advising you guys to stay at home. That is the only way out”:Mboma wrote on Twitter.
Affreuse nouvelle!
Kick442.com understands Achille Essome died in Bonapriso in the Littoral region of Cameroon after suffering from CoronaVirus infection.
This comes barely hours after Cameroon’s minister of health Dr Manaouda Malachie confirmed nine new cases of infected persons in Douala, six in Yaounde and one in Bafoussam.
The recent details takes the number of infected persons in Cameroon to 56.The minister is yet to make an official statement on the death issue.
Family sources say, Mboma’s uncle reportedly died at the famous Laquintini hospital in Douala.
The former Indomitable Lion must be in an inconsolable mood. Since his retirement from football, Mboma and a good portion of his family leaves in France and only comes to Cameroon from time to time.
We are still tracking details of the areas his uncle has visited since the outbreak of the virus.
Giving that the first cases of infected persons in the country came from abroad, especially France, it won’t be surprising if Achille’s has records of a recent stay abroad.
The CoronaVirus has since been declared a global Pandemic by the world health organization with medics busy seeking a cure for the virus.
