Management of Southwest regional league outfit Buea United, has handed over 750 thousands to players and staff, to help ease difficult moments caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The laudable initiative was Ignited and overseen by President Valery Kadji on Saturday 15, as the club used a digital means to transfer the money.
Kick442.com understands that each player received 25,000 FCFA, same with the coaching staff of the Club.
This came barely a day after Buea United FC was absent from Southwest FECAFOOT’s bureau, to receive FECAFOOT Covid-19 relief packages.
President Kadji Valery has said he however, did not intend to compete with anyone, and the date for the lovable gesture was selected well ahead of time.
‘Saturday the 15 is a day that was set aside by Buea United to give a little token to its players thanking them for the efforts, patience and encouraging them to continue believing in football which will one day change their lives,’ stated the club’s supreme leader.
‘This little package was given to the players by management.’
Quizzed on whether he wanted a power tussle or brawl with the federation given that, it took just 24 hours between being absent for the federation’s gift before his club’s, the president outrightly denied.
‘It was planned for the 15 and just coincided with FECAFOOT’S own gift. Buea United has made her point, we are not in a race with anybody. Buea United stands for fair play. We are behind FECAFOOT southwest, we support them, and we hope they keep on doing a good job to improve football in our region,’ finished president Kadji Valery.
Very few Elite clubs thought of their players at these perilous times, talk less of amateur football Clubs.
