Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Ibom Youth Football Club have also joined other clubs in embarking on break after the CoronaVirus outbreak.
This was confirmed in a press release by the club’s Team Manager, Mr Etido Inyang.
“In line with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Akwa I’m Football Association (AKFA) directive in suspending all football activities as a Precautionary Measure against the Spread of the dreaded Corona Virus, Ibom Youth Football Club hereby wishes to notify it’s employees and the General public of its decision to Proceed on break Indefinitely with effect from Friday 20th March 2020.” The release read.
“Players, Technical and Management personnel are by this Notice Permitted to proceed on break as from today Friday 20th March 2020 until Further Notice.
We Urge everyone to remain calm, Vigilant and Coperative with relevant Health Care givers in the face of the global fight against the COVID 19 pandemic.
We look forward to a Speedy Eradication of the Virus and return of Normalcy worldwide, But in the meantime Stay Safe.” The release concludes.
The outbreak of CoronaVirus (COVID-19) is forcing football activities across the globe to be on hold in order to curb the spread of the pandemic. Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership have been put on hold due to the same reason.
