Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Abia Angels Football Club management have directed the players to proceed on break for the next 2 (two) weeks as the club await further directives from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the COVID-19 virus.
The club chairman, Mr Rowland Gbaruko while addressing the players urge them to adhere to all medical instructions and stay healthy too, ” I advice all players to listen and adhere to all medical instructions because you can only play football when you are healthy and make sure to get more informations on COVID 19 virus and guidelines to stay healthy and safe,”
Abia Angels will kick off their 2019-2020 NWFL Premiership season campaign at home to Edo Queens with the hope of surpassing last season feat of finishing second behind league runners up, Confluence Queens in Group D.
The club defender, Margaret Ademulegun in an earlier chat with kick442.com supported the postponement of league matches due to CoronaVirus pandemic.
“The postponement is okay because health is wealth football is played today and tomorrow we have no choice than to wait.”
Abia Angels were one point shy of Confluence Queens who finished top of Group D, last season and will hope to qualify for the Super 4 come next season.
