Health authorities in Togo have declared the entire Cotonsport of Garoua squad Covid-19 free after a routine test was performed on members of the team’s delegation on arrival in Lome in the early hours of Saturday,November 28.
The results have since been given to the team and per the analysis the entire squad of 18 players are cleared to participate in this Sunday’s game against Unisport of Sokode.
The 15 times champions of Cameroon Cotonsport of Garoua had their first practice session at the home of their opponents, Stade de Kegue in Lome – Togo ahead of their CAF Confederation cup first-leg preliminary round game against Unisport of Sokode on Sunday.
The Cameroon Club led by coach Souleymanou Aboubakar are keen on restoring their dignity in the competition against debutant Unisport of Sokode.
Coach Souleymanou Aboubakar traveled with an 18-man squad comprising of two goalkeepers and 16 in-field players.
Sunday’s game at the Stade Kague in Lome Togo will be the first fixture between both sides.
It is an opportunity for Cotonsport to launch her quest to return to the group stage of the CAF interclub competitions after a three year absence.
The return game is scheduled for December 6 at the Roumde Adja Stadium in Garoua.
