The match day 21 fixtures pitting Cotonsport of Garoua against Stade Renard of Melong this Tuesday in Garoua will be the first official return to Garoua for former Cotonsport gaffer Ebwelle Ndinge Bertin.
The former indomitable Lion, now coach will be in Garoua with his in-form Stade Renard. The club is 9th on the log and unbeaten in four games. They are hoping to draw inspiration from Panthère Nde’s two nil win over the Cotonites in match-day 20 last Friday.
Ebwelle enjoyed arguably his best days since venturing into coaching while at Cotonsport of Garoua.
The 57-year-old won the 2018 Cameroon League One championship title with the Garoua club, setting a record of 21 games without defeat en route to becoming champions.
Ebwelle joined Cotonsport in March 2018 and left in the same month of the subsequent year. He took charge of 35 games out of which he recorded 19 wins, 12 draws and only four defeats against;New Stars twice,YAFOOT and Union of Douala.
Coach Ebwelle Bertin’s Stade Renard of Melong are breathing confidence. They have lost one of five league games in 2020 while Cotonsport have won a game and suffered a defeat plus three parity score games in that time.
Bertin Ebwelle will surely have some of his former parishioners who still remember his good works in Garoua though he is returning with disciples capable of hurting people of congregation he once called his.
