The center Referee of Cameroon League one game pitting Dragon Yaounde to Cotonsport of Garoua last weekend in Yaounde Kamga Njipi has been suspended for 4 games by the referee assessment commission of the Cameroon Professional Football League.
The Commission’s decision released on Tuesday June 4th explains that the said referee’s performance in the game was below par and as a result he will sit out for a while.
This decision comes after some section of Cotonsport fans criticized the performance of the said official especially his decision not to award a penalty following a foul on Francis Elimbi in the Dragon box in the second half of the same game.
The first half penalty he awarded to Cotonsport following a foul on Arnaud Sibiri also came under huge scrutiny by some Dragon fans with players showing their discontent for the penalty on the pitch.
In a related the center referee who was in charge of the League Two game pitting FAP to Panthere Rexona Claude has been handed an 8 games ban for poor application of the laws of the game and poor technique in officiating.
Paul Alain Tchouta, Steve Yannick Edjo’o, Hervé Njambe Etota, Litop Bernard, Bomba Mvondo, Rodrigue Menye Mpele, Roland Engoudou and Paul Chesneau Olle, all referees who were in charge of the 16th final Cup of Cameroon games; Panthere versus Soleil of Garoua and Avion Academy versus Jeunesse D’Obala have been momentarily suspended for failing to apply article 11 of the 2019 Cup of Cameroon while waiting for further sanctions.
The game Cotonsport versus Dragon ended on a 1 all score while FAP defeated Panthere by 3 goals to 2.
