Amoudouane Ouro-Aleva’s goal wasn’t enough for Togolese side Unisport of Sokode to earn a ticket for the second preliminary round of the 2020-2021 CAF Confederation cup.
The return of the Cotonites at the historic Roumde Adja Stadium in three years didn’t go as planned for the fans.
The boys of coach Souleymanou Aboubakar played below par and conceded a 46th minute goal scored by Amoudouane Ouro-Aleva.
The game ended on a one-nil score in favor of the visiting team but Cotonsport books a place in the next round of the competition.
Cotonsport is Cameroon’s surviving representative in the CAF interclub competitions.
The 15 times champions of Cameroon will face Zambian side Green Eagles in the second preliminary round later this month.
