The El Supremo of Fernand Sadou has met a group supporters in Garoua as part of the process to reignite a strong and strategic support of the Club going forward.
Supporters of the Foulbere neighborhood in Garoua and the president discussed protection of Sunday’s match venue and building a strong partnership between Club’s management and the supporters.
At least 500 fans will watch Sunday’s game at the Roumde Adja Stadium. It is the first the Club playing at home in three years.
Cotonsport, 2004 semi-finalist of the CAF Confederation have been out of the competition’s business end for over three years and are keen on returning to the group stages of the CAF interclub competitions.
The 2008 CAF Champions League finalist have not made it to the group stage of any of the two CAF competitions since 2017 and see this season’s event as a big chance to right the wrongs with their current squad.
Cotonsport have a two-nil lead from the first-leg encounter recorded last weekend and will be hoping to build on this to secure qualification for the next round of the competition.
Cotonsport vs. Unisport Sokode: December 6th. 15:00 CAT/2:00 GMT. Stade Roumde Adja, Garoua.
But, before we look ahead to this weekend’s game, let’s take a quick trip back to Lome last week when Cotonsport edged Unisport to win three points.
November 29th: Unisport Sokode 0, Cotonsport 2
Cotonsport will play their first CAF interclub game at the Roumde Adja Stadium in Garoua on Sunday at 3:30pm.
A win on aggregate for Cotonsport will earn the Club a ticket for the second preliminary round of the competition against Musongati of Burundi or Green Eagles of Zambia later this year.
