Cotonsport of Garoua have recorded a goalless draw away to Mauritanian champions FC Nouadhibou this Sunday.
Though second-best to their host in the first-leg game this afternoon, Goni Ali and mates put up a great defensive display to keep the host off the score sheet for the entire game.
The goalless draw means the tie will be decided next weekend at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, in a second-leg game in which there must be a winner.
Any kind of win will be enough to continue a second consecutive qualification to the group stages of the competition for the charges of Souleymanou Aboubakar.
Coton players are expected to leave Mauritania for Douala on Monday and they will camp in Cameroon’s Economic capital to prepare for the return game.
