Cotonsport of Garoua have come from behind to beat Avion Nkam by 2-1 on Monday in a delay Day 10 clash in Garoua.
In the first game of the post Ebwelle Bertin era, with new coach Ndoumbe Bosso watching from the stands, Avion took a 12 minutes lead through Tjena Federic but the Cotonites troops rallied for their pride and place in the heart of the new coach and got a first half stoppage time equalizer through left back Serge Andoulou from the penalty spot for his second goal of the season.
It took another late goal from youngster Oumarou Sali in the 89th minutes to settle the dispute in favour of the Cotonites as they picked up a 2-1 win to make it 4 home wins in 4 games this season.
Cotonsport maintain their invincibility at home but Ndoumbe Bosso has more than a week to prepare their next game given that the Cotonites are not involved this weekend. The gaffer will have the team’s desperate away run in the back of his mind and will be working towards improving that in the 3 away games they have in the second half of the season.
The win ends Cotonsport’s 2 games winless run and takes the club to the top of the the Pool A win 15 points.
Ndoumbe Bosso’s first away game will be against TKC in Yaounde when he starts his journey to his first piece of silverware since 2013 and mounts Cotonsport’s title defense.
