Cameroon Elite One giants Cotonsport of Garoua have picked up an impressive victory in a pre-season friendly against Guinean side Futuro Kings FC.
The Cotonites recorded a three-nil win at the Stade Annex 1 this Tuesday afternoon.
Marou Souaibou scored within two minutes of kick off and took control of the game from then on.
Coach Souleymanou Aboubakar’s Cotonsport dominated the midfield, restricting the visitors in their camp for the better part of the half.
Lionel Abate made it two-nil from a spot-kick just before the interval outsmarting the Futuro Kings defense to score his second in two appearances for Cotonsport of Garoua.
A few minutes after the interval promising forward Guime Areina made it three-nil with his second of the pre-season.
Cotonsport was cruising and looked like a team ready for the new season expected to kick off next month.
The Garoua giants protected their three goals cushion till the full-time whistle.
Futuro Kings FC ended the game with nine players following the second half sending off of Igor and substitute Traoré.
The three-nil wipes off any worries of their three all draw against FAP last weekend.
Cotonsport and Futuro Kings FC will move to Bafoussam for another game this Sunday.
There are signs coach Souleymanou Aboubakar’s team will be a handful in the attacking third next term.
