Cotonsport of have been handed a boost with midfield maestro Kaiba Djawao returning to training and in contentiin to start after a one month spell on the treatment table due to a thigh injury.
The 18-year-old missed Blues’ matches against Sims of Bafoussam, Racing, Laussane and the quarter final win 1-0 against AS Fortuna on Thursday due to the injury.
However, the latest victory was made even sweeter when Kaiba joined full training on Saturday putting himself up for selection by coach Gabriel Haman for the first time since scoring in the final of the title playoffs against Eding Sport.
Kaiba who has featured in 32 games in all competitions this season has been the main in midfield for the Cotonites, scoring seven goals and providing nine assist in the running to the title success.
Jean Eric Moursou has impressed in Kaiba’s role during the recovery of the latter but both are available this Sunday which makes Coton better.
Coton are in fine form heading into the fixture against Union, and will be looking to strengthen their situation against the Nasara Gamakai when the step out at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.
The Academy graduate has proved Coton’s defensive linchpin however and his return would provide a clear boost to boss Gabriel Haman and the rest of the squad.
Coton face seven time cup winners Union hoping to reach the first final since 2014 while Union of coach Oumarou Sokba is keen on getting to the final and winning the trophy for the first time since 2006.
