The Confederation of African Football, CAF has allocated two thousand (2,000) tickets for fans in Cameroon wishing to watch Coton Sports’s return leg fixture.
Coton Sport is negotiating the last bend for a place at this year’s CAF Confederation Cup. The team will play AS Sonidep of Niamey this Sunday, February 21 in the second leg of the Confederation Cup qualifiers.
In Niamey on Sunday, February 14, a goal from Thierry Tchuente at the 71mins gave Coton Sport the winner and a huge advantage going into the second leg. Coton needs just to avoid a defeat in this second encounter for them to be through to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Intermediate Lions captain Solomon Banga, Felix Oukine, who all participated at the just-ended Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), played the entirety of that encounter against AS Sonidep.
Should they succeed in picking that much sought out ticket; it will be remarkable for a side that has not seen competitive action in their home league since it was abandoned last year. And with fans being allowed to watch the game, the 12-man support is going to be there to cheer the boys of Souleymanou Aboubakar on to victory.
It has been a good showing for the Coton pluckers in the qualifiers. Coton Sport has been able to dispatch Unisport of Sokode and Green Eagles. The draws for the 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup will come up February 20, 2021 with the first day of play coming up on 10 March 2021.
