Young Chipolopolo of Zambia were 2-1 better than their Angolan counterpart at the COSAFA men’s under seventeen championship going in South Africa this Saturday.
The goals didn’t come until the second half in spite of the dominance of Zambia. Two goals in the early hours of the second half, but a late goal by the Angolans presented what seemed an edgy end.
Charles Majapa with a beauty of a goal for the Young Chipolopolo in the 51st minutes. Mumba got on the end of a neat-looking cross which rockets in from outside of the centre half to gift Zambia the lead.
Coach George Chilufya’s side didn’t waste time to get the second through Rickson Ng’ambi cool finish from the spot made it 2-0 in the 64th minutes.
Spot-kick had been awarded the way of Zambia after Catungue made a hash out of defending his goal after Banda charges in from the left.
With nothing much to play in the game, the Angolans got a consolation in the game in the 90th plus three minutes.
Lopes pulled one back for Angola off a rebound which he sent into the top-right.
Zambia will play host, South Africa on Tuesday at Gelvandale Stadium.
