Amateur players in the 10 regions of Cameroon will receive a special donation in the days ahead from the country’s football governing body, FECAFOOT. This information is substance of a communique signed by FECAFOOT’s Secretary General, Benjamin Didier Banlock.
The announcement concerning the distribution procedure and followup of the donation also outlines the criteria necessary for eligibility and the role of various regional league stakeholders to the gesture.
Kick442.com has learnt that, distributions will take place at the office of the various regional leagues, with the various Presidents or Secretary Generals incharge of its coordination.
Also, heads of regional league clubs have been urged to communicate a list of 20 players per team to the president of the regional league concerned. The list will be validated by the Secretary General of the concerned region after consulting the license file. Players deemed qualified must present their national identity cards or player license before collection.
Personnels retained by the federation at national or regional levels will take charge of delivery to various headquarters of each league. Each regional representative at the end of the mission must submit a detailed report to the federation, the communiqué insist.
Kick442.com reported on May 4, 2020 that FECAFOOT was looking forward to support the amateur championship that was suspended for months due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
In April 2020, 25 players and staff of each elite one and two clubs with an additional 20 players and officials of the women’s League clubs were granted 50,000FCFA,30,000FCFA and 25,000FCFA respectively.
The amateur Championship has been annuled after the executive bureau of FECAFOOT decided to put an end to the domestic leagues. Only the elite one, elite two and women’s League had champions declared.
