Jesús Manuel Corona Ruiz could be Chelsea’s second signing of this summer.
Reports from Daily Express have it that the 27-year-old Mexican midfielder could be the Blues second acquisition once the Portuguese season is over.
Reports the same source say the FC Porto winger is fascinated with the chance to switch to the Stamford Bridge but wants to win the Portuguese title with Porto before finalizing details on the switch.
The skillful FC Porto midfielder has scored two goals and provided 17 assists from 41 games in all competitions this season for the club.
The experienced attacking midfielder has been at the Portuguese club for the last five-years and his current deal runs till the summer of 2022.
Chelsea initially had their eyes on Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho as possible replacement for Pedro Rodriguez who will likely leave the Club this summer.
Unfortunately for Frank Lampard’s team, Dortmund’s asking-price for the 20-year-old Sancho makes Corona their next best option.
The ex-FC Twente winger is rated at €20 million according to Transfermarkt. Chelsea is willing and able to pay this amount, reason why sources say the player could be Chelsea’s soon.
