Dieudonne Youni was on-hand to help his Continental FA side defeat the University of Buea FC 3-1 on Thursday at the Tiko Town Green Stadium.
Goals from Dieudonne Youni, Arrey Oduak and Ndive Njie saw Continental FA beat the University of Buea FC 3 goals to 1.
Dieudonne Youni scored a powerful strike at the 16mins which goalkeeper Mark Jisi couldn’t keep out. That goal brought the game to 1-1 after UB FC had earlier taken the lead through Wilfred Brice.
“I have to work on my goal scoring. I had many chances in the game but could not take it. (I am just happy that) the most important chance I had I scored,” Continental striker Dieudonne Youni told kick442.com after the conclusion of the game.
Ashu Junior had the opportunity to get an equalizer for the University of Buea FC but his shot was deflected, to the disappointment of the fans.
Dieudonne Youni like in the first encounter against UB FC was a menace in the encounter. His presence was enough to cause the defence of UB to make a host of mistakes. A mistake from goalkeeper Mark Jisi at the 19mins led to Continental picking up their second goal of the game. Arrey Oduak took advantage of the mistake from Mark Jisi and slotted it into the back of the net.
Continental FA continued to show their dominance in the game, and Ndive Njie took advantage of another mistake from the UB FC defence at the 30mins and scored a chipped goal.
Continental could have won the game on a higher score but their striking left more to be desired. The team had a number of clear chances but could not convert, something which their striker attested to.
“We are happy for the victory against the University of Buea FC. We had a number of chances but could not convert, something we have to improve upon,”Dieudonne Youni added.
The victory for Continental FA keeps their hopes alive of picking one of three available tickets for the South West Region at the upcoming 32nd finals of the Cup of Cameroon.
