Joshua Cheptegei through his foundation Joshua Cheptegei Foundation has officially announced that he will miss in action in the ongoing Common Wealth Games where he was to participate in the 10,O00 and 5000m races respectively .

He further explained how sad it is to him to miss the CommonWealth Games 2022 especially having wanted to defend The title in the 5000M event.
Cheptegei who has of recent won the hearts of Many Ugandans explains how he endured illness from the recent participation in the World Athletics which brought a setback in his training program.
He concludes wishing the best to his fellow country men jacob Kiplimo and team-mates to accomplish the job as they represent Uganda.
This means Joshua Cheptegei will not be able defend his 5,000m and 10,000m titles at the #CommonwealthGames2022 in Birmingham, UK.
