Canon of Yaounde started their League campaign with a 3-0 victory over Avion of Nkam this Sunday in Yaounde. ,

After the game the head-coach Stephane Ndzana emphasised on the need to get back to work early in a league that is highly competitive.

Ndzana’s tactical prioress did the trick for Canon and left Avion nursing injuries.

The former U17 Lionesses head-coach brought in Alphonse Kevin Assiga who opened scoring for Canon, as well as Donald Mimong who provided an assist.

In his post match interview with, Ndzana voiced: “we were prepared for everything because Avion is not a small team and we are from league 2. We understood details that turned the game on it’s head”.

When asked about his tactical, masterclass substitutions that killed the game, Ndzana replied ” I would not appreciate myself, rather, I would let others rate my performance”.

“We have a difficult next game against Stade Renard, and the team would need to prepare harder“, the coach ended.

The former AS Fortuna gaffer replaced Samuel Noufessi on August 7th after Canon’s promotion to the big time. Canon played and won their first game in the league 1 since 2016 when they were relegated and had a 3 years abortive attempt of gaining promotion.
