Cameroon Elite One outfit OFTA of Kribi have parted ways with their lead trainer Jean Sébastien Bata Ntjam.
Coach Bata presented his resignation letter to members of the Club’s executive committee on Saturday after their 1-2 defeat to Bamboutos FC of Mbouda in Match-Day 14 of the MTN Elite One championship.
The trainer who replaced Casimir Mangue in September 2020 later took to Facebook this monday to confirm he was ending his adventure with the Ocean Boys.
“Every beginning has an end. My adventure with OFTA of Kribi ends today. After reaching the summit of Cameroon football, I leave this club with lots of regrets. I wish the players, technical staff and administration luck in the rest of the journey,” he wrote before going on to advise his successor.
“Courage to my successor.”
The former Eding Sport de la Lekie trainer was key in helping OFTA speedily moved from the third tier Championship to the top-flight.
OFTA of Kribi have manifested their desire to be among the big boys this term but poor results have been their undoing.
Coach Bata is an experienced coach with stints abroad most recently two years ago in Chad but unfortunately he hasn’t left OFTA on a comfortable spot on the log in their debut campaign in Elite One.
With just one win and six draws so far, OFTA is currently tenth on the log with 12 points from 14 games played so far.
