The Principal Coach of Limbe Football Club Association, LIFCA, Augustine Choupo says his focus now has been shifted to the SW Regional League after his club was eliminated from the ongoing qualifiers for the Cup of Cameroon.
Goals from Emerant Motutu Junior and Graham Bong Ajebe gave Cinyodev FA a 2-1 victory over LIFCA. The lone goal for LIFCA was scored by Beboang Ne Kalba.
In his post-match reaction after the game, Coach Choupo told journalists that he has been doing his job but if the executives feel otherwise he will step down.
“I am not afraid to lose my job. I am a coach and every time we are ready to go. It is not my first time coaching. I am 26 years on the bench and 21 First Division. I have done my job and if the executives say it is not going then I can leave,” Augustine Choupo, LIFCA’s Coach told kick442.com.
“We are surprised about what happens because from the first half and the second half we played good football. I cannot blame my players because they gave their all in the match. We did score but luck was not on our side. I will just say congratulations to Cinyodev as they go forward.”
The Coach was also not happy with the referees and some of the decisions which he felt were unfairly given against them.
With one objective now on the Regional League and qualifying for the mini interpool, the team will have to pick themselves up quickly with a crucial game this weekend. LIFCA is scheduled to face Isle of Hope SA (ISOHSA) on Sunday, March 14 at the Limbe Community Field.
LIFCA is in Pool C of the ongoing Regional League alongside Njalla Quan Sports Academy (NQSA), FUSSA and ISOHSA. In the first encounter, LIFCA lost 2-1 to NQSA but picked up their first three points on matchday two as they defeated FUSSA 5-1.
LIFCA currently sits second in Pool C with three points behind leaders NQSA who have six points.
