Members of the executive bureau of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee, gathered on Wednesday June 6,at the institution’s headquarters in Nkol Eton to assess the level of progress and adjustments ahead of the major local and international sports competitions.
Participating in the CNOSC meeting was Issa Hayatou and Minister Gregroire Owona of Labour and Social Security. Some newly elected members into the executive bureau were highly welcomed.
“We are preparing our participation for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and that of the Islamic Solidarity Games slated for Konya, Turkey. The preparation of our athletes are on the track.”
“The final is to get the financial means from the government, so that we may send our athletes abroad for acclimatization.Hamad Kalkaba Malboum said
Eseme Alobwede Emmanuel (Athletism) and Arrey Sophina Ntui Ayuk Otay (Judo),were designated as Team Cameroon’s flag bearers for the Commonwealth Games, Birmingham 2022.
Meanwhile, Mbutman Ahmed Lawal, captain of the volleyball national team was designated Team Cameroon’s flag bearer for the upcoming Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey.
The town of Garoua was chosen to host the 2022 edition of the national Dixiade olympics, with the participation of disciplines such as; Badminton, Athletics, Basketball, Football, Boxing, Football, Handball, Powerlifting, Judo, Wrestling and Volleyball.
The commission for sports and education was given the responsibility to decide on an appropriate logo , for the Garoua Dixiade games scheduled for Thursday 13 to 22 December 2022.
